Good things come to those who wait...I hope

Well all I need now is my police background check sent to me from the states and I will have everything for my visa application. Then its just a matter of about 2-3 months until immigration gets back to me letting me know if I can stay here or not. If I can getting a job will be cake I have already been offered a banking position and also a job at the horse race tracks in Brisbane, it will be interesting to see when the time comes what I go for. As far as not being able to stay here.....I dunno. Coming home is what I will do but its a matter of how where to stay and all that jazz. But alas we will see what happens. I miss you all greatly and hope that soon I will have pics to show everyone. Jeannasu's picture of the lorikeet is something we have here that flies around freely, I like watching them in the morning in our front yard they are so beautiful. Had aussie strawberries for the first time yesterday, all of them are HUGE and taste omg so good! We just got done paiting our flat also, its very nice, our feature wall is a dark greyish blue called harbour blue, then our other walls are white bricks but have a dry wall trim which we painted that a sand color. All in all I am happy but sore from it, also found out if you dont stir ceiling paint you end up doing like 3 coats and feeling like a dumbass in the end. Anywho good luck to you Jeannasu on getting that job, and hope everyone is doing well.

Painting is SO much fun!! :-)
I'm confused though... if you're married then why wouldn't you be able to stay there?

If for some reason you do come home... you'll be more than welcome to take over my apartment if you like :)(I'm rarely there.)

turns out a lot of people come over here, marry an aussie then once their two years are up and you get citizenship they divorce the aussie. It was actually on a news special the other day. Living here in terms of taxes, medicare, buy properties is nothing like back home. As mean as it sounds, Oz is like america was 20 years ago, however their medicare here is amzaing. Basically you go into a Dr pay your $60-70 dollar fee go across the shop to the medicare office and they hand you back everything but $5, and everyone has medicare, everyone. So no worrying about if a job covers you or not, no more paying $150 out of your pay check a month for coverage, a lot of people take advantage of this. Basically I have to go through a screening process and interviews with immigration asking why I came here, what are my plans do I really love my husband and what not. If for any reason they think I am lying or dont show enough proof

Which by the way if happens, I would totally take you up on your offer : ) Be good to see you again. By the way how are things going for you?

I know it's selfish, but...

I miss you too. And kinda hope you at least come back to visit. I even sort of understand the whole thousands of miles (and several time zones) away thing. As far as phone cards go, though, if you have decent internet (which I don't) there is always Vonage. It's 20 or 30 a month and next to nothing to make calls.

Anyways, I will be home on leave at the end of march, and home for good in July or August. My e-mail is caseless@gmail.com (although I usually only get to it every few days, although it might be longer in the near future (see my post). If you e-mail me your home phone number and how to dial it internationally (and what time zone you are in, I'm GMT + 4.5) I will try to call you every so often to chat.

Drop me a line to let me know how you are doing every once in a while, okay? I miss you and worry about you sometimes. I hope everything is going well. I know you have heard it a million times from a thouand people, but if you ever need a place to stay or anything, let me know. I want you to be happy wherever you want to be. You should be where you are because you want to be, not because you have to be. If it ever ends up where you feel trapped, drop me a line, okay?

Miss you tons. Hope you are doing okay!

Hey D-

I didn't have your e-mail address at work so I'm sending you a message via Live Journal. I hope all is well with you. I was wondering how if you will be allowed to stay or if you'll have to come back to the states.

Things are crazy here. I'm going to Texas soon to see my friend Karen who just had a baby in September. Then there is school and work as well.

Keep in touch.

B
